Reliance Retail said it has acquired the ‘Pahadi Local’ brand along with its business from Pahadi Goodness Private Limited, as the retailer seeks to strengthen its presence in the fast-growing beauty and wellness segment.
The acquisition brings the Himalayan-inspired personal care brand into Reliance Retail’s portfolio of consumer brands, enabling it to leverage the company’s omni-channel retail network, digital commerce platforms and supply chain capabilities for further expansion.
Pahadi Local, founded in 2018, focuses on skincare and wellness products derived from Himalayan ingredients and traditional formulations. The brand has gained traction among consumers seeking clean, nature-based personal care products and sustainable sourcing practices.
Strong addition
Commenting on the acquisition, Isha Ambani, executive director at Reliance Retail Ventures, said the brand’s focus on indigenous ingredients and responsible sourcing makes it a strong addition to the group’s beauty portfolio. She added that Reliance plans to scale the brand through its retail ecosystem while preserving its core identity and product philosophy.
The founding team of Pahadi Local will continue to guide the brand’s creative direction and product development, ensuring continuity in its approach to natural formulations and community-linked sourcing.
Reliance Retail said it will expand the brand’s reach across physical stores and digital channels while accelerating product innovation. The move is part of the company’s broader strategy to invest in high-potential Indian brands across beauty, wellness, fashion and lifestyle categories.
