QNu Labs, the Bengaluru-based quantum cybersecurity start-up known for building quantum-safe communication and encryption solutions for defence and strategic sectors, is now seeing growing traction from enterprises as concerns around AI-led cyberattacks and future quantum-computing risks rise.

The company expects commercial business to contribute 60 per cent of revenues over the next two years, compared to 40 per cent from defence. QNu Labs said sectors such as BFSI, telecom and healthcare are increasingly investing in quantum-safe systems.

Speaking exclusively to businessline, Sunil Gupta, Co-founder, CEO, QNu Labs, said enterprises are increasingly evaluating how to secure long-term data, communication networks and digital infrastructure against future threats posed by both quantum computing and autonomous AI systems.

“What has changed is that cybersecurity conversations are no longer reactive. Enterprises now see security as a business continuity and trust imperative.”

The company believes BFSI and telecom firms will lead the commercial rollout, as they face mounting pressure to modernise systems ahead of global and Indian quantum-security migration timelines.

QNu Labs estimates the Indian enterprise quantum-security market could reach ₹500-1,000 crore over the next three to five years, driven by growing investments in quantum-safe infrastructure, secure communication networks and post-quantum cryptography solutions.

He adds that the transition is not moving away from defence-led growth, instead applying the security innovation at scale.

The commercial adoption, he calls is urgent as India operates digital infrastructure at enormous scale with 22 billion transactions at UPI per month. UIDAI too creates 140 crore identities. “Quantum readiness for India is not just a technology upgrade, it is a national resilience issue across finance, identity, telecom, and defence.”
