State-run Hindustan Copper Ltd (HCL) on Thursday, April 2, reported a steady rise in production for FY 2025–26. The company’s provisional data showed metal in concentrate (MIC) production at 27,421 tonnes for FY26, marking a 9% increase over the previous year.

Ore production also rose 6% year-on-year to 3.67 million tonnes, reflecting improved operational performance across its mining assets.

Q3 results

In the December quarter, the miner delivered a sharp jump in earnings. Net profit more than doubled to ₹156 crore from ₹63 crore a year ago, while revenue surged to ₹687.3 crore from ₹327.8 crore in the same period last year. EBITDA also climbed over 100% to ₹244.4 crore, with margins expanding to 35.6% from 32.9% a year earlier.

Looking ahead, management has guided for around 20% volume growth in FY26, with margins expected to remain above 40%. The company also indicated its cost of production stands at approximately $5,500 per tonne, positioning it to benefit from firm copper prices.

Shares of Hindustan Copper Ltd ended marginally lower on Thursday, April 2, by 0.17% at ₹495.15 on the NSE.
