Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Larsen & Toubro (L&T) and some others have issued travel advisories to employees advising against non-essential travel to the Middle East amid geopolitical tensions, as per sources.
“TCS has suspended all incoming and outgoing travel to and from the Middle East region, including transit, as airspace across several countries remains closed,” said the company in an internal advisory. Asking all associates to stay indoors, avoid non-essential travel and follow guidance of local authorities.
The company’s HR and country leadership teams are to be actively connected with its associates and their families across locations. TCS is coordinating with local authorities and Indian embassies to track developments.
“A call tree has been activated, and associates in impacted and bordering regions are being contacted on priority,” said the company, which currently has 9,110 associates and over 150 clients across 11 key indutries in the Middle East and Africa region.
Meanwhile, an L&T spokesperson said the company has issued a travel advisory to all concerned personnel and asked them to exercise caution and avoid non-essential travel.
“We are closely monitoring the evolving situation and confirm that all our employees, workers and assets on the ground are safe. We are in constant touch with our clients and are following government advisories,” said the spokesperson.
The Middle East is a strategically significant market for L&T in energy, infrastructure, renewables and technology.
Similarly, Deloitte consulting firm in an internal communication asked all employees to suspend travel to Gulf countries until further notice.
