IndiGo has revised its fuel surcharge structure, introducing distance-based charges for all new bookings from April 2, applicable on both domestic and international routes. The airline has replaced the earlier flat Rs 425 fee on domestic flights with a slab system-starting at Rs 275 for journeys up to 500 km and going up to Rs 950 for flights beyond 2,000 km. While shorter routes see some relief, passengers on longer distances will face higher costs. The move follows rising fuel prices amid ongoing West Asia tensions.
- Up to 500 km: Rs 275
- 500 to 1000 km: Rs 400
- 1000 to 1500 km: Rs 600
- 1500 to 2000 km: Rs 800
- Above 2000 km: Rs 950
The revision comes after the airline first introduced a fuel charge on March 14, and has now updated it due to rising fuel prices amid West Asia tensions.
