What happens when a podcast host forgets their laptop they need for a high-profile interview?
We learned that lesson the hard way at the 2026 GDC Festival of Gaming when we showed up to interview Owlchemy Labs CEO Andrew Eiche. Fortunately Eiche was an exceptionally good sport, and thanks to his A/V technician skills and a fly-in assist from our pals on the GDC team, we got the show back up and running.
This week on the GDC Podcast, we’re using our goof-up to chat with Eiche about what happens in the game industry when events are thrown off course and you have to adapt to unexpected circumstances. No one is perfect—and so many up-and-coming developers live in fear of what will happen when they break the build or irritate the wrong executive.
