Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates, Tuesday, April 28, 2026: The Nifty50 and the Sensex extended losses after oil prices rose due to fears of prolonged supply risk from the Strait of Hormuz. The Nifty50 was trading 0.13 per cent or 35.25 points down at 24,057.95, and the Sensex was trading 0.26 per cent or 203 points down at 77,089.89.
Broader markets outperformed the benchmark indices. The Nifty MidCap and the Nifty SmallCap were trading 0.38 per cent and 0.89 per cent higher, respectively. Sector-wise, the Nifty PSU Bank emerged as the worst-performer. The Nifty Bank and the Nifty Private Bank also weighed. Meanwhile, the Nifty Metal rose the most.
