Venus in Cancer wants hugs, comfort and emotional connection. Juno in Aquarius is the relationship commitment that emphasizes freedom and detachment. Hence, the incompatible quincunx.
One partner wants to be close but the other wants space. This creates a wrinkle in the partnership agreement. It’s difficult but not impossible to deal with – the nature of the quincunx (no matter which energies are involved) is adjustment. Each side moderates their tendencies so it’s easier to meet in the middle.
This might look like Venus becoming a bit more self-reliant and Juno recognizing that needing a hug is not the same as entrapment.
Having said this, the quincunx is so difficult because adjustment is often not possible. So this could be an area of disagreement that cannot be overcome and only you and the other person know this for certain.
