Mobile network is now fully functional across the length of Mumbai Metro’s Aqua Line as of June 18, as per a Vodafone Idea (Vi) spokesperson.
“Vi has successfully extended its network connectivity across the remaining underground stretch of Mumbai Metro Aqua Line 3, ensuring seamless network coverage all the way till Cuffe Parade. Vi’s mobile network services are now live across the entire route, covering the balance 11 stations from Science Centre Metro Station to Cuffe Parade (including Mahalaxmi, Jagannath Shankar Sheth, Grant Road, Girgaon, Kalbadevi, Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus, Hutatma Chowk, Churchgate Metro, Vidhan Bhavan),” said an official Vi spokesperson.
Last week, telcos had announced the restorage of mobile network in the underground metro from Aarey JVLR to Acharya Atre Chowk.
Earlier this year, Mumbaikars were travelling the length of the metro line without network connectivity due to the fallout between Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation and its third-party service provider ACES Infrastructure. At the time, Vi had set up its in-building solution with ACES. Now, the three telcos are working together to setup functional network across the aqua line.
