Either way, the spiritual/compassionate/artistic motivation is united with a look behind and beneath – insistent on the truth. You’re expected to walk your talk – it’s no longer enough to gesture vaguely at the idea of what you’re going to do.
Excellent for targeting the dream you’ve been pondering and making it happen. Excellent for keeping idealistic ambitions on track with pointed observations.
Ceres into Taurus grounds nurturing in the physical world. This is the growth of lush plants, care of the body, the preparation of food. The lifecycle plays out visibly, in real time.
Ceres is named after the goddess of the crops so she is at home in this Earth sign. Fertility, security and physical thriving are favoured. Good for self-care or care of another that delivers real-world results. Also good for the metaphorical and literal planting of your garden.
But we must also remember that Ceres’ daughter (Persephone) was abducted by the King of Underworld and in her grief, Ceres allowed the crops to wither and the people to starve. She only encouraged life again when Persephone was allowed to spend part of the year above ground, with her mother.
So the underlying message is that birth, growth, death and birth will play out, no matter how much you seek to preserve a current state. You cannot preserve any form of life (be it a gorgeous bloom, precious child or youthful appearance) at a particular moment. Attempting to do so brings distorted, unnatural results.
When you engage in a lifecycle, you engage in the entire process – enjoy the growth and peak, release with grace or cleansing grief when it ends.
