I’m home after a wonderful weekend in Palm Springs diving into progressions and 2026 timing.
What a gift it was to be together in person, to learn, connect and grow.
I was reminded that early in my astrology journey, all learning happened in person, either in weekly classes, monthly meetings or annual events, like conferences.
The absolute pleasure of being together, learning and diving deep into such rich material and then being able to share a meal and a few laughs together at the end of the day was heavenly to revisit.
(My next in person event is in France in March if you too would like to learn and grow together in person.)
Of course, one important topic of conversation throughout the weekend was the shift of Neptune into Aries.
Neptune in Aries in History
We looked at this cycle historically – there is much more to Neptune in Aries than war.
In fact, it’s not as though Neptune in Pisces was an absence of war, given world events in the last decade and a half.
When you consider the charts of people born with Neptune in Aries, one of whom was a devoted proponent of non-violence, Mohandas Mahatma Gandhi, you see people born with Neptune in Aries who actively campaigned against aggression and war.
May this coming cycle bring more activists and movements against aggressive action around the world.
Canada, Russia and the US
Students explored the links from the Neptune in Aries transit to specific countries like Canada, the US and Russia. One area to watch in this coming Neptune in Aries cycle will be the arctic, including the northwest passage, and who is controlling what in the far north.
On the last Neptune in Aries transit, the USA ‘bought’ Alaska from Russia in the Alaska Purchase, and Canada become the country entity it is today.
Transport, Communication and Movement
In previous Neptune in Aries cycles, daily newspapers began in England (1701-2), the first cross country east/west telegraph system came together in the US, courtesy of Western Union in 1861.
The first subway in London arrived in 1863 and the Suez Canal opened in 1869, which had huge implications for shipping and global trade as it opened a direct route between Europe and Asia.
So Neptune in Aries has connections to the wider sharing of information, historically via print and telegraph, which were current technologies of their day. This transit also has links to accelerated movement of people and goods, via improved transit and upgrades around logistics, transport and shipping.
It can be helpful to explore past cycles of a transit to explore the many facets of what this next cycle might bring forth.
Neptune in Aries and You
That said, I imagine many of you are wondering how Neptune in Aries might influence you personally.
The most direct way will be via transit to planets or angles in your chart.
In the near future, this will be you if you have any planets in the early degrees of the cardinal signs, which includes Aries, as well as Cancer, Libra and Capricorn.
I cover this material in many of my teachings on transits and timing, which you can review here and here. You might also like this free 11 min video where I answer a student’s question on transits.
A less specific but no less relevant way to tap into Neptune in Aries will be via the topics of the Aries house in your chart.
There are SO many big picture trends and topics tied to the shift of Neptune in Aries, as there is any time a major, slow moving planet changes signs.
Let me know what questions you have in the comments and I’ll do my best to answer them in the future.
Your Pisces and Aries Houses
For now, I’d like to invite you to contemplate your own chart. To identify the topics of the Pisces house, where Neptune has left, and the topics of the Aries house, where Neptune is still unpacking his bags.
There are many possible Neptune keywords and concepts you can draw on, from mystical and messy, to inspired and full of imagination.
As you start to tune into the Pisces parts of your chart and life without the influence of Neptune (for the first time since 2011!), what do you notice? What feels different? Do you prefer the absence of Neptune here or does it feel as though something is missing?
Then as you call your attention to the topics of the Aries part of your chart and life.
Are you imagining wild, new possibilities? Are you more sensitive – either emotionally or energetically – to matters connected to this area of life? Is there something you’re not seeing, or being overly hopeful and idealistic about here?
I also wanted to share these reflection questions from a book called Astrology Alive, by Barabar Schermer, which you may find helpful when attuning to Neptune.
- What areas of my life do I suspect I am not seeing clearly?
- Am I holding any illusions now about my life or anyone in it?
- Is there anything I am addicted to? Does this have repercussions in my life or the lives of others?
While Neptune does have it’s messy, confusing and foggy side, slowly down and feeling your way forward can help add a soulfulness and more sustainable way of being into your world.
May Neptune in Aries inspire us all to act from a place of compassion and reduce suffering for those we encounter.
