How are you doing after February & March’s crazy astrology? Two eclipses and a Mercury retrograde phase was quite the cosmic mix. And, this was on the back of the redefining Saturn/Neptune conjunction in Aries which took place on February 20.
On a collective level, Saturn/Neptune themes are social and ideological change and the redefining of boundaries and territory. We are standing at the threshold of a new era, one that currently feels unstable and uncertain. In Aries, a key theme is aggression, force and war.
In addition, Neptune rules water, the seas, gas and oil and Saturn restricts and limits what it touches. These themes are currently foreground worldwide.
On a personal level, you may be giving up addictions, Neptune’s realm. Or be committed to turning your long-term dreams into reality, a positive showing of Saturn and Neptune working together. Here’s what’s coming up this month:
Mars Enters Aries
April 9
Mars is fiery and furious in its sign of rulership Aries. The red planet which rules anger and action is strong in Aries – the strident activist, the daring hero, the martial arts expert. Mars in Aries knows what it wants and goes all out to get it.
Mars in Aries is fast, direct and takes no prisoners. This is great news if you need to be assertive, make things happen and take charge. Mars will remain in fire sign Aries until May 18.
On a personal level, use Mars in Aries for the force of good. Stand up for your rights and what you believe in. The God of War is in pole position and the role of the individual matters.
Do get fit and strong during Mars’ transit through Aries and use Mars’ power to create a power surge in your life. It’s forceful planetary energy when channelled well.
Be careful on the dates around April 17 to 20 when Mercury, Mars, Saturn and Neptune make a tough team in Aries.
Sun Enters Taurus
April 20
In the northern hemisphere, Taurus season is abundant and fertile, a time when flowers and colour dominate and nature is at its peak.
Taurus season takes us back to the basics when you tend to the earth, eat nurturing food and grow what can sustain you. A roof over your head and food in your belly is appreciated.
The Sun will be in Taurus from April 20 to May 20. Plus, the loveliest planet Venus is in Taurus up until April 24 so lean into comfort, sensuality and know what keeps you stable and sane.
Uranus enters Gemini
April 26
We are living in extraordinary times, a major period of endings and beginnings. This is shown by the three modern planets, Uranus, Neptune & Pluto, all changing star sign within the space of a few years. This process began in March 2023 and completes at the end of April 2026.
This month, the planet linked to innovation, technology, revolution and change Uranus is the last of the modern planets to move into its new star sign. Uranus has been in earth sign Taurus since 2018.
Uranus’ move into air sign Gemini is a symbol of radical communication, where it will remain for the next seven years. Power planet Pluto’s already in an air sign Aquarius and the technological, futuristic world is well underway thanks to AI and many more new ways of communicating.
Experimental Uranus is likely to feel at home in Gemini as Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury, Gemini’s ruling planet. They are different modes of communication with Uranus being modern and technological.
Uranus in Gemini suggests new technologies, communicating with outer space, new discoveries and inventions. Perhaps, a new language will be discovered or there’ll be a flurry of twins being born. Uranus rules lightning and electricity.
Uranus in Gemini is a powerful symbol of diversity as Uranus is an eccentric influence, unconventional and non-conformist. This feels much-needed in our current world.
There could be a revolution in transport as this is Gemini’s realm and driverless cars are already being trialed in London.
Wherever technology can push back the boundaries of what’s possible, outrageous and radical Uranus will want to make it happen.

This Full Moon cuts across the Aries/Libra axis of the zodiac, a reminder of the importance of balance and compromise in relationships. Libra rules peace, Aries rules war.
New Moon Aries
April 17
A New Moon is a symbol of new beginnings. Traditionally, a New Moon is the time to launch a project, begin something new and start over.
This is the beginning of the waxing phase of the Moon cycle, an ideal time to set your intentions for the month ahead. Make a wish when you first catch sight of the crescent Moon, a couple of days after the New Moon date.
This month’s New Moon falls in fire sign Aries on April 17. It’s an ideal New Moon to leap into action, be dynamic and motivated.
