Action Group appoints Alex Cornwell as managing director

Lifestyle and sport professional services firm Action Group has appointed a new managing director. Alex Cornwell will assume the position with the remit to help the firm’s portfolio of clients unlock growth in a challenging economy.

Cornwell explained, “I’m joining the group bringing across a decade’s experience working with brands like Therabody, Huel, the adidas Manchester Marathon, HUUB, Dryrobe, Energie Fitness and Club Pilates as The PHA Group’s former VP of Fitness & Wellness. I will now be looking to further establish Action Group as the agency of choice for brands seeking commercial success across fitness, wellness, lifestyle and sport.”

Founded in 2010, Action Group is a professional services firm which specialises in PR, marketing and content creation for clients in the sports, wellness and lifestyle spaces – but also delivers a line of services including business development and commercial consultancy. This sees the group provide a team of specialists provide in-depth industry knowledge, and strategic direction to solve a particular problem, scale up or create new revenue streams.

Among clients to receive this kind of support are David Lloyd Clubs, Fitness First, Les Mills, the Youth Sports Trust, Vibram, Your Personal Training, Everyone Active, Wellhub and Orangetheory.

As the former vice president of fitness and wellness at The PHA Group, Cornwell will step into the shoes of outgoing Managing Director, Daniel Pearson, who is now head of communications for Europe at Motorola Solutions. As he takes on the role, Cornwell added that from conversations with the team, “their ethos and the agency’s unique, agile full-service set-up, this role feels perfectly aligned.”
