Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter has celebrated 130 years of caring for animals across the North East of England. It also continues to enjoy an enduring partnership with Carney Consulting, which is among those supporting a fund-raising initiative in June.
Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter helps rehome more than 1,000 lost, unwanted, neglected, abused and abandoned animals every year. The firm also reunites lost pets with their owners when possible. For 130 years, it has continued this work, relying on a raft of corporate partners to maintain its services.
One of the firms to commit to an enduring partnership with the shelter is Carney Consultancy. The professional services firm specialises in health and safety consultancy and training for the construction and engineering sectors across the north of England.
To that end, Carney offers expert health and safety guidance, and staff training to the shelter – playing a key role in ensuring the charity can operate safely and effectively. Acting as the shelter’s health and safety consultants, the team provides ongoing advice and support completely free of charge. This includes reviewing and rewriting risk assessments and COSHH assessments, carrying out health and safety policy reviews, undertaking fire risk assessments of the main site and supporting accident investigations.
Angela Carney, managing director at Carney Consultancy, said, “As an animal lover, I personally want to congratulate and thank Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter for 130 years of caring for the region’s animals. It’s an easy choice to support a charity that transforms lives and has such a positive impact on the community. From providing health and safety guidance and staff training to helping raise funds, every bit of support makes a real difference. We’re proud to help the shelter continue its vital work for many years to come.”
Alongside this, Carney is also active in supporting the shelter’s continued fundraising initiatives. On June 11th, the company is inviting clients, partners and friends to its annual corporate golf day at Macdonald Linden Hall, all money raised will be donated to the charity.
Companies including Clark Degnan, White Knight Maintenance, Applebridge, Redhead Roofing, Northern Ceilings & Partitions and Interceil have all been introduced to the shelter via Carney Consultancy and have contributed support through maintenance, construction and refurbishment projects that benefit the Shelter and its animals.
Rachael Kendall, general manager at Newcastle Dog & Cat Shelter, added, “As we mark 130 years of caring for animals across the North East, we are incredibly grateful for the unwavering support of Carney Consultancy. Beyond their professional expertise, Angela and her team continually go above and beyond – championing our work, supporting fundraising initiatives and connecting us with other businesses who share our passion for animal welfare. Partnerships like this are vital to our future, we are proud to work alongside Carney Consultancy.”
