Arkus Advisory has added James Parkinson to its partner team. He brings 17 years of experience to the Cayman Islands-based restructuring and insolvency advisory firm.
Parkinson commented in a post on LinkedIn, “After 17 years in restructuring and insolvency, I’ve learned that the firms worth joining are the ones where the quality of the work speaks for itself. That’s what drew me to Arkus Advisory, and I’m delighted to be joining as a partner.
Founded in 2024, Arkus Advisory provides specialist restructuring and advisory services in leading financial jurisdictions, including the Cayman Islands, Delaware, the British Virgin Islands, the Bahamas, and Bermuda. The firm works to help clients navigate complex challenges, protect value, and implement effective recovery strategies.
Prior to Arkus Advisory, he held senior positions at global professional services firms across the Cayman Islands, London, and Bahrain. This international grounding informs his approach to complex cross-border restructuring and recovery mandates – with his previous work spanning informal wind-downs, formal insolvency appointments, asset recovery, and cross-border enforcement matters involving offshore structures and onshore litigation.
The new Arkus partner added, “What struck me early was not the pitch, but the people. A team with deep experience, honest commercial judgment, and a way of working that puts client outcomes ahead of everything else. In this field, that combination is rarer than it should be. The volume and quality of work already coming through reflects the trust clients place in the firm and the relevance of what Arkus does in the markets it operates in. That isn’t built overnight, and it matters.”
The ‘offshore’ market of Caribbean-based tax havens has been attracting a glut of consulting talent in recent years – with large companies and financial operators having flocked to the overseas territories to make the most of their beneficial status. In particular, restructuring firms have been arriving in the market in some numbers, to support clients as they further overhaul their operations there. Alongside the likes of Teneo, Interpath, Quantuma, and Opus Business Advisory Group, A&M has now strengthened its offshore presence accordingly.
