Murray Watt has been promoted in MHA as head of operations. He brings more than a decade of experience to the role.
Rakesh Shaunak, Group Chairman & CEO, MHA, commented, “Murray brings a rare combination of strategic clarity and operational discipline. His experience driving growth and transformation initiatives across global markets will be invaluable as we continue to build a scalable, innovative firm that delivers exceptional outcomes for our people and clients. I’m delighted to welcome him to the leadership team at such a pivotal moment in our growth journey.”
MHA is a national accountancy and advisory firm MHA, which is also the UK member firm of Baker Tilly International. Watt’s appointment follows MHA’s successful IPO in April 2025, the largest AIM listing in the Business Support Services sector in the past five years. The flotation powered strong results for the firm last year, but also provides a strong platform for further investment in technology, including AI, and supports the firm’s continued expansion across the UK and internationally.
Watt brings more than 12 years of experience across the Baker Tilly network. During his time as regional director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Baker Tilly International, he partnered with member firms within the network to develop and execute regionally led strategies, consistently turning strategic goals into practical results, strengthening the network’s position across the region. He also served as director of enterprise strategy at Baker Tilly US, partnering with C‑suite and senior leadership to develop and execute strategies at both enterprise and business unit levels.
In this strategic leadership role, Watt will work closely with the CEO and senior leaders across the firm to translate MHA’s ambitious strategy into operational reality. He will now focus on aligning and executing MHA’s key growth, transformation and operational initiatives to realise MHA’s ambitions.
He explained, “I’m thrilled to be joining MHA at such an exciting time. With a clear strategy and bold ambition for the future, there is enormous opportunity to build on the strong foundations already in place. I’m looking forward to partnering with Rakesh and the wider leadership team to drive disciplined, focused execution across our most important transformation and growth priorities. Continuing my journey within the Baker Tilly International network, where I’ve experienced first-hand the value of great relationships, makes this opportunity especially meaningful.”
