Teresa Hitchcock has joined the Leeds office of Eversheds Sutherland as a senior consultant. She arrives in the firm’s UK environment, health and safety team.
Paul Verrico, partner and global head of environment, health and safety at Eversheds Sutherland, said, “Teresa is one of the UK’s leading EHS practitioners, with an exceptional track record advising clients on complex regulatory matters. Her experience, including time as a senior regulator, enhances our ability to support clients at a time of rapidly evolving environmental, product safety and health & safety requirements. We are thrilled to welcome her to the team.”
Eversheds Sutherland is a global multinational professional services firm, specialising in legal services. Its law practice was created by a combination of law firms Eversheds and Sutherland Asbill & Brennan in February 2017; a merger which made it one of the 50 largest law practices in the world.
The firm also operates in the consulting space – as the two markets increasingly intersect. Boosting its litigation and dispute management practice in Leeds is Teresa Hitchcock, who specifically joins the firm’s environment, health and safety team.
Arriving from DLA Piper, Hitchcock brings significant senior experience across regulatory, environmental, corporate disputes and international arbitration work. A respected authority in environment, product stewardship, food safety and health and safety, her career spans senior regulatory roles in local government and decades as a lawyer advising major corporate and public bodies.
Her extensive experience includes contaminated land, climate change, regeneration projects, food and product safety, health and safety investigations, food regulatory issues and cross‑border compliance matters.
Hitchcock said of her arrival, “I am really excited to join Eversheds Sutherland’s EHS team. The firm’s strong reputation in regulatory and disputes work, combined with its international reach, offers a fantastic opportunity to support clients on the full range of environment, product stewardship, food safety and health & safety issues.”
Eversheds Sutherland is also expanding its consulting services in mainland Europe. Joining as a partner, Michiel Coenraads brings more than 20 years’ experience resolving complex cross‑border disputes, with a strong sector focus on energy, and natural resources and industrials.
