A community-run Pride event in World of Warcraft is getting officially supported in patch 12.0.5

Regular fans of World of Warcraft are probably familiar with the annual Running of the Trolls, a community-led charity event that both celebrates Pride month and helps to raise money for The Trevor Project. Well, it looks like the 2026 version is getting official backing from Blizzard, as it’s being made an in-game event in patch 12.0.5.

The official event name is the Darkspear Dash, which will run between June 27th through the 29th. The affair will see a beach party kicking off at the Troll starting area of Echo Isles and ending with a pool party at the Silvermoon City fountain where the parade ends. Datamining has also found the existence of a colorful event tabard, a toy, and even NPCs who will warp players to the starting point of the parade.

We expect there will be some official details as 12.0.5 gets closer to its release sometime in the spring. For the time being, we can at least nod in approval of this excellent community event effectively being canonized.
