The war between the US, Israel, and Iran is also impacting West Asia. Meanwhile, an Emirates flight was seen making a highly unusual maneuver in UAE airspace. This incident occurred amid an alert for ballistic missiles launched from Iran.

According to live data from FlightTracker24, Emirates Flight EK501, traveling from Mumbai to Dubai, was intercepted just outside UAE airspace on Tuesday morning. The UAE Ministry of Defense had issued an alert that air defense systems were intercepting Iranian ballistic missiles.

The flight tracking data revealed that the plane did a double reverse before landing in Dubai, which is an unusual occurrence, according to flight experts. The plane initially seemed to turn back towards Mumbai, but as things normalized, the pilot changed course towards Dubai.

The airports in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah were temporarily opened on Monday and Tuesday due to the conflict taking place in West Asia. The airports suffered damage from the debris of drones and missiles fired by Iran. After a few days of airspace closure and many canceled flights, some flights were operated to aid stranded passengers.

Iranian retaliatory strikes damaged infrastructure at Dubai International Airport and Abu Dhabi’s Zayed International Airport. One person was also reported dead in Abu Dhabi.

On Saturday, the US and Israel launched a joint military operation against Iran. Several prominent leaders, including Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were killed in the operation.

Iran immediately retaliated, vowing to attack US and Israeli targets across the region. Tehran launched drone and missile attacks on US bases in Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Iraq, and elsewhere. The conflict has also spread to Lebanon, where Iran-backed Hezbollah has also become active.
