The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, on Saturday constituted the Technology and Policy Expert Committee (TPEC), a standing expert advisory body to support the functioning of the recently constituted AI Governance and Economic Group (AIGEG).
The TPEC will be chaired by the MeitY Secretary and its members include IIT Madras professor B Ravindran, IIT Gandhinagar director Rajat Moona, and representatives from Nasscom, DSCI and MAIT.
The Committee, among other duties, will provide expertise to the AIGEG in relation to AI policy and governance. It will also identify potential risks and regulatory gaps, and track global developments in the field.
