Deck13 Spotlight and developer Datadyne have released a new trailer for Forge of the Fae, offering a fresh look at the upcoming old-school inspired JRPG and its enchanting Celtic-inspired setting.
The trailer arrives as the game reaches a major development milestone. An alpha build has now been distributed to select Kickstarter backers, allowing them to experience the first third of the game and explore its fantasy world for the first time.

A Fantasy World Inspired by 1800s Ireland
Forge of the Fae is set in a world heavily inspired by 1800s Ireland, blending Celtic mythology with a classic JRPG structure. The story follows Fiora, a young inventor who becomes entangled in a growing conflict between humans and the mystical fae.
As tensions escalate and an ancient power stirs, Fiora must uncover the secrets behind the turmoil while navigating a larger mystery about the world around her. Player decisions will shape the narrative’s direction, influencing the story’s outcome and providing a more personal role-playing experience.

Classic JRPG Combat With Modern Systems
Drawing inspiration from classic turn-based RPGs, Forge of the Fae features strategic combat designed around a deep ability system. Players will use mechanics such as the ARC Crystal System and Adrenaline system to create customizable spells and powerful abilities during battle.
Exploration also plays a major role in the adventure. Throughout the world, players will encounter puzzles and hidden challenges that reward curiosity with powerful equipment, valuable resources, and additional lore about the world’s history.

Demo Available Now
While the full game is still in development, players can already try an early slice of Forge of the Fae. A free demo is currently available on Steam, offering a preview of the game’s combat and exploration mechanics.
Forge of the Fae is currently planned to release in 2027 for PC and consoles, with the developers promising additional reveals and gameplay footage throughout the year as development continues.
