Sun/Saturn is the new reality that defines your purpose and restricts your ego. You encounter limits that insist you slow down and commit properly to this new chapter. While there’s an underlying urge to run ahead, certain obligations cannot be avoided. At the same time, you still have to do this primarily on your own.
The sextile to Pluto adds a subtle but unmistakable increase in power. While you’re dealing with new limits, Pluto adds intensity of purpose – this does not have to be a burden. If you focus on the way forward while accepting that this is your new commitment (rather than running in the other direction or collapsing under the weight) you’ll discover that you can do this – you have the strength to shape your new reality.
Having said this, the First Quarter Moon (square the Sun/Saturn conjunction) will kick things off with a crisis. Parental dynamics are strong as the need for protection and nurturing challenges authority. A corner must be turned regarding these dynamics – the focus on self-sufficiency and commitment means you can’t forget about who/what you’re committed to. Someone needs you. Or, you need to protect your inner child by taking responsibility for him/her. No one can tend to those unmet needs except for you – you must become the parent.
The Moon makes an incompatible quincunx to Pluto, triggering an uncomfortable thread of fear and helplessness. New transformations feel threatening and intensely childlike reactions can emerge in response. Whether it’s you or someone else regressing, it’s up to you to be the adult.
