Sometimes you just need to punch someone in the face in Pax Dei. And while the survival MMORPG does have places and some reasons for face punching, if you prefer to swing fists at one very specific face in particular, now you can in the latest patch.
Dueling. We mean the sandbox now has dueling. Players can engage in 1v1 scrums either through a slash command or a context menu. Duels can last no longer than 10 minutes and players will need to be within a specified area, but those who are outside looking in can heal or buff a duelist without joining in as a means to learn healing mechanics, while clan members can also duel one another if they choose.
As for the rest of the patch, that includes several map improvements, optimization for the building system, new graphics presents, UI scaling features, and multiple updates to recovering materials after failed crafting attempts. The patch notes grant all of the granular details.
While this update brought plenty of improvements, Mainframe Industries is still trying to improve something else: its resource spawning tech. The studio explains in its latest Discord-only dev blog that every update scrambles the “resource sockets” algorithms that govern where gatherable materials spawn, but the devs are now testing adjustments that should make resources a bit more static. This can be tried out in the PTS.
