Canada’s Matt Dunstone won his third straight game at the world men’s curling championship with an 8-4 victory over China in Tuesday’s early draw.
The teams shook hands after Dunstone’s Winnipeg-based rink broke open a close game with four points in the ninth end.
Canada improved to 5-2 with the win, good for a tie with Scotland for third place. Ross Whyte’s Scottish rink kept pace with a 7-2 win over South Korea in the morning session.
Sweden’s Niklas Edin led the standings at 7-0 heading into an afternoon showdown with Switzerland, skipped by Marco Hoesli, which was second at 6-1.
Sweden and Canada were set to meet in the day’s final draw.
Dunstone is skipping Canada at the world championship for the first time after winning this year’s Montana’s Brier.
