Bright and early this morning, Amazon patched up Lost Ark, whose playerbase is still reeling from the loss of two beloved community managers, among others laid off from the studio last month, as well as the end of video roadmaps, all of which is giving the impression that Amazon’s version of the game is slowly winding down ahead of a likely transfer to Smilegate.
But in the meantime, the global edition of Lost Ark continues to get updates, including today’s patch, dubbed The Shadows Rise. “This update features loads of new content, including the very first Shadow Raid – Serca, Witch Of Pain, new Tier 4 progression with Destined Tremor Gear, challenging solo content including Chaos Rift and Haal’s Hourglass, Inanna’s Blessing, and more,” the studio says. It also features the new brawl system, the shared resurrection system, new shadow skills, and the tier 4 honing expansion, but the main content here really is the new raid.
“With Kazeros defeated, the seals binding the Primordial Beings have weakened. These ancient entities now threaten Arkesia. Serca, the Witch of Pain, is the first to emerge from the shadows, and she brings with her a new level of challenge that will test even the most seasoned adventurers. Shadow Raid – Serca is a new 4-player endgame raid available in Normal, Hard, and Nightmare difficulties. This content shares gold reward counts and free extra reward counts with other endgame content. […] To challenge Serca, the Witch of Pain, you must complete the Shadow Raid unlock quest ‘[Unlock] Notice: Shadow Raid.’ This quest can be accepted from the Quest Journal (J) > Guide tab after reaching Item Level 1710 and completing the main quest ‘Inherited Will.”
The official site originally linked over to a promotional piece, but the patch notes are indeed functioning now, just devoid of images. Servers returned at 6:30 a.m. EDT this morning, so the update is already live. Now to see if it can perk up those slumped Steam numbers and improve those “mostly negative” recent reviews.
