Hela: Of Mice & Magic has been officially revealed as the new title for the upcoming adventure game from Windup Games and Knights Peak.
The announcement comes with a new deep-dive trailer released during the Earth Appreciation Festival, highlighting the game’s world, music, and design.
New title reflects the game’s core themes
According to the developers, the new title emphasizes the game’s focus on small animal protagonists and magic-driven exploration.
Hela: Of Mice & Magic centers on the relationship between a witch and her familiars, with players taking on the role of a mouse as they explore a world inspired by Northern Sweden.
Exploration and cooperative gameplay
Players will explore a handcrafted world featuring environments such as forests, meadows, wetlands, and underground burrows.
The game includes both solo and cooperative play, with a magical backpack that lets you interact with the environment, reach new areas, and solve traversal challenges.
Focus on nature and music
The new deep dive also highlights the game’s approach to sound and music. Each area features its own theme, with compositions that shift based on the environment and nearby activity.
The soundtrack is composed by Frida Johansson and Henrik Oja, known for their work on the Unravel series.
Launch planned for 2026
Hela: Of Mice & Magic is set to launch in 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
