GungHo Online Entertainment America has announced that Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter will launch on September 17, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam. Alongside the release date, a new gameplay trailer confirmed more of the game’s English voice cast.
The upcoming release continues the modern reimagining of Nihon Falcom’s Trails series and follows up on the events of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.
Estelle’s Story Continues in Liberl
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter picks up after the unrest that shook the Liberl Kingdom in the first game. The story follows Estelle as she sets out to find Joshua after his disappearance, while a wider conspiracy begins to spread across Zemuria.
As Estelle pursues the truth, she becomes entangled in larger political tensions, ancient mysteries, and the growing threat of Ouroboros. GungHo says the remake will feature updated visuals, reorchestrated music, quality-of-life improvements, and full English and Japanese voice acting.
New English Voice Cast Members Announced
The latest reveal adds seven more actors to the English voice cast. Newly announced cast members include Cassandra Lee Morris as Anelace Elfead, Ray Chase as Kevin Graham, Patrick Seitz as Mueller Vander, Gabriella Certo as Julia Schwarz, Stephen Fu as Leonhardt, Liam O’Brien as Georg Weissmann, and Courtney Lin as Renne.
They join the previously revealed cast, which includes Stephanie Sheh as Estelle Bright, Johnny Yong Bosch as Joshua Bright, Michelle Ruff as Scherazard Harvey, Matthew Mercer as Olivier Lenheim, Ben Pronsky as Agate Crosner, Brianna Knickerbocker as Tita Russell, Cristina Vee as Kloe Rinz, and Vic Chao as Zin Vathek.
Preorders Are Available Now
Preorders for Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter are available now in both a Standard Edition and a Golden Wings Edition. The Standard Edition is priced at $59.99 on Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, while the Nintendo Switch 2 version is priced at $64.99. The Steam version will be available digitally at launch.
Players who buy the Nintendo Switch version will also be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 Edition through a $4.99 Upgrade Pack. A Season Pass is also planned for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Steam, with pricing to be announced later. A Digital Deluxe edition including the Season Pass will be released at a later date.
Following Up on Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter
Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter follows the strong reception of the first remake, which earned review averages of 87 on PS5, 89 on PC, and 90 on Nintendo Switch 2 on Metacritic, along with an “Overwhelmingly Positive” user rating on Steam.
This new release is a full remake of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC, bringing one of the series’ most well-known story arcs to modern platforms on September 17.
