Mercury’s hits to Saturn and Mars build on the April 19th conjunction. Restricted and focused actions are put into words- this can be a formal statement regarding what action must be taken or an official commitment.
This is a mix of what you must communicate/learn and the follow up efforts. It’s the ultimate “walk your talk” influence- if you say you’re going to do something, it must happen. Excellent for setting intentions because even if you (try to) change your mind, you’ll find that events compel you to follow through.
We can view this as the elder (Saturn) flanked by the enthusiastic student/messenger (Mercury) and the sprinter (Mars). Saturn is the outer planet, therefore the strongest. He has the authority and keeps the other two in line. He insists that the time has come.
This also continues events from the April 18th Mercury sextiles to Pluto and Juno.; the emerging power of a truth, delivered via a transformative relationship, has peaked. The bold information is confirmed (Saturn) and activated (Mars).
The relationship contract itself features a commitment that’s forged by a “death” and journey through something extreme that unites the partners. They have experienced their own underworld in the form of a confrontation with their greatest fears and undesirable aspects of themselves. This is not a casual union – it’s the start of something profound that empowers both parties as they join forces on the edge of the crowd while looking to the future.
In some instances, this could be the death of a relationship. Or, if you really want to lean into the symbolism, an agreement with Death itself- someone’s acceptance that their time has come (due to illness or age) and this is the contract that liberates (Aquarius) them. This could be applicable to someone in hospice/palliative care or anyone suffering from a degenerative condition: their last form of independence and empowerment.
In all cases, the conjunction is about beginnings so I also see this as the start of something completely new and eye-opening. And it could be romantic but this encompasses any agreement between two people: professional, doctor/patient, family, friends. The key is Pluto’s all or nothing energy- your entire being is in this.
April 18th to 20th will be about the ultimate commitment.
