Outfielder Juan Soto is expected to be activated from the injured list Wednesday, manager Carlos Mendoza told reporters Tuesday, according to Deesha Thosar of FOX Sports.
Soto strained his right calf on April 3. Mendoza said the Mets will manage his workload, including limiting back-to-backs and using him at DH.
The Mets had lost 11 in a row heading into Tuesday night’s game against the Minnesota Twins, and sat last in the National League at 7-15.
Soto, a four-time all-star, signed a 15-year, $765-million deal with the Mets prior to the 2025 season.
The Dominican star had 43 home runs, 105 RBIs and 38 stolen bases last year.
