Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) chase down 229 with comfortably at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium, thanks to explosive knocks from Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma.
IPL 2026: Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s explosive 36-ball hundred proved insufficient as Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) chased down a massive 229-run target with five wickets in hand and nine balls to spare, defeating Rajasthan Royals (RR) in a high-scoring IPL 2026 encounter in Sawai Mansingh Stadium at Jaipur on Saturday.
The 15-year-old young sensation once again lit up the stadium with his fearless approach as he slammed his second IPL hundred of the season. Yet, SRH’s aggressive top-order batting, led by Ishan Kishan and Abhishek Sharma, powered a clinical chase.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi brought his second IPL ton in 36 balls
Sooryavanshi displayed a record breaking show after Sunrisers Hyderabad skipper Pat Cummins invited the hosts to bat first. Rajasthan Royals got off to a measured start before Sooryavanshi took center stage. The teenager reached his half-century in a mere 15 balls. He then accelerated dramatically, bringing up his century off just 36 deliveries – the third-fastest hundred in IPL history.
Sooryavanshi breathtaking ton featured 5 fours and 12 sixes, while Dhruv Jurel contributed a quickfire 51 off 35 balls. Their 112-run stand for the second wicket provided the platform for a massive total. In the death overs, Donovan Ferreira chipped in crucial 33 runs, helping RR cross the 200-run mark and post a commanding 228 for 6 in 20 overs.

Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan stitched a 135-run partnership together
Sunrisers Hyderabad’s openers Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan launched a blistering counter-attack from the outset. Abhishek slammed 57 off just 29 balls, setting an aggressive tone, while Ishan Kishan grabbed the headline with a destructive 74 off 31 deliveries, laced with big hits that kept the required rate in check.
SRH reached 229 for 5 in 18.3 overs, completing the chase with plenty of breathing space. The top-order aggression ensured the middle order faced minimal pressure. For Rajasthan Royals, Jofra Archer and Brijesh Sharma picked up two wickets each, but they lacked the economy and breakthroughs needed to stem the flow of boundaries.
Meanwhile, Pat Cummins and Eshan Malinga were relatively economical in patches, yet the sheer momentum of SRH’s batting proved too much to handle. With this win Sunrisers Hyderabad climb to third place on the points table with 10 points, while Rajasthan Royals ranks fourth with the dame number of points
