New Delhi: Consumer care major Haleon, has announced plans to invest around Rs 2000 crore (£175 million) to set up its first manufacturing facility in India.

The proposed greenfield facility will come up on a 40-acre site in Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh, and is expected to be operational by 2029–30.

It will feature automated manufacturing capabilities and is projected to create up to 500 jobs, along with indirect employment opportunities,

Amid rising demand, the maker of Sensodyne toothpaste is investing in the new facility to strengthen its supply network across India and other Asian markets.

“India is a key strategic market for Haleon and an important driver of our long-term growth. This investment strengthens our local manufacturing footprint and expands our reach in one of the world’s fastest-growing consumer health markets,” said Brian McNamara, CEO, Haleon.

Haleon operates in more than 170 markets and posted total revenue of $14 billion (at current exchange rate) in 2025

The NYSE-listed company was spun off from GSK in 2022, becoming an independent business formed through the merger of US pharma giant Pfizer and GSK’s consumer healthcare division.
