In client work lately the timing indicated by secondary progressions has been fascinating and especially insightful. I thought you too might find it interesting to hear what’s been showing up. Here are four snippets of different progressions in action.
Progressed Balsamic Moon Phase and Low-Key Themes
One client wondered why other timing techniques weren’t expressing as strongly or with as much influence as she’d expected. Looking through her progressions, it turned out she is in the progressed balsamic or dark Moon phase, which is a time of rest, closure and completion.
The progressed balsamic phase can last up to four years, and everyone will experience it at some point in a longer thirty-year cycle. It’s typically a quieter, more introspective time, when you might prefer to wind things down, go inwards or generally move and live at a slower pace.
The Progressed Sun into Leo: Confidence and Energy Boost Ahead
On the other hand, another client was about to have their progressed Sun move out of Cancer and into Leo, which also happened to be their first house.
This progressed Sun shift, into Leo, the sign of its rulership, will happen for most people who have the Sun in Gemini or Cancer in their natal chart, and depending on how long they live, for those with the Sun in Taurus too.
As you might imagine, the progressed Sun moving into the sign of its domicile brings a great strengthening of spirit, as well as a boost in confidence and self-belief.
The progressed Sun into Leo is a vibrant influence – that will last thirty years – which can encourage a client to step into the light, to lead or to prioritize the goals and experiences most important for them. It’s an indication that more visible and impactful opportunities await.
Progressed Planets Moving From a Water Sign to a Fire Sign
Any progressed planet moving out of a water sign and into a fire sign will become more active and expressive. When this happens, you might get better at making factual, clear choices and pushing for progress.
A progressed planet in a water sign isn’t better or worse than a progressed planet in a fire sign, but they are different. A progressed planet in a water sign might be quieter, have a reflective or thoughtful quality and emphasize connection and safety instead of growth and advancement.
Your Ascendant Ruler Changing Signs by Progression: Mercury into Aries
It’s also significant when the planet that rules your natal ascendant progresses into a more dynamic, bold or vital sign.
For this client, with the progressed Sun moving into Leo, there’s a direct link from that shift to an increase in their sense of self as well as their understanding about their true potential, as the ruler of their Ascendant progresses into one of its most vital, effective signs.
Something similar is coming up for a different client, who has a Gemini ascendant. This client is about to have their Ascendant ruling planet change signs by progression too.
For them, Mercury will progress out of Pisces and into Aries. Even though Mercury doesn’t have any special sign-based dignity in Aries, Mercury has been in one of the signs of its detriment while in Pisces, so this shift can help reduce confusion and uncertainty.
For Mercury, this progression out of Pisces and into Aries can be like moving out of an intuitive, yet messier or meandering season, and into a cycle where expression and thinking become bold, daring, specific and goal oriented.
Progressed Mercury moving out of Pisces and into Aries may bring clarity and enthusiasm for new projects, as well as a boost in energy and drive.
Given that Mercury rules their Gemini Ascendant, this shift will mark an important development in their understanding of themselves. Going forward, this client may be better able to impress their preferences and desires onto life, and to choose their way forward, rather than always responding to or being distracted by what’s going on around them.
Progressed Sun in Aspect to Natal Uranus: Freedom, Excitement and Pattern Breaking On the Way
When working with a member chart for the Check Your Chart video this month, I was excited to see them about to experience their progressed Sun conjunct natal Uranus, which is a wonderful omen for freedom, change and pattern breaking.
This client was stuck in a choice around work and life direction, trying to decide between sticking with full time work for a few more years or exploring semi-retirement/part time work options sooner.
It’s no surprise with Uranus in the mix that stepping away from the demands of full-time work to experiment with different schedules and work opportunities, even self-employment, will make sense.
These are just a handful of examples of progressions in action from recent weeks.
Have you worked with your progressions? What important shifts and progressed events have you experienced?
