Here we have a beginning with duality – two sides must co-exist. You like the person’s work but not how they behave in their personal life. The new job aligns with some of your thoughts but not all of them. You must lie with compassion (or mix a lie with the truth) to deal with a tricky situation.
As a Mutable sign, Gemini asks that you hold two, conflicting choices simultaneously. This is not an either/or matter – what begins now calls for flexibility and finesse.
Mercury (Gemini’s ruler) sits in Cancer (ruler of the Moon) so there’s mutual reception happening. This new chapter will have an emotional basis but also a logical one (again, duality). You’ll have to communicate your feelings without allowing them to swamp you.
Mercury makes a sextile to Mars in Taurus so there’s good support via grounded, patient actions. Move slowly, with intent, and manifest your thoughts; this is a slow and comfortable unfolding.
However, Mercury and Mars make incompatible quincunxes to Black Moon Lilith in Sagittarius – untamed female behaviour is the focal point of this Yod. This very difficult configuration funnels stressful energies into the female outsider. Her foreign, challenging truths disagree with Mercury in Cancer’s comforting, familiar facts. And, she’s far too fast, risky and ferociously sexual for Mars in Taurus’ laid back actions.
As a result, what begins can start off with a jarring disagreement as old school domestic pushes back against the controversial “invader.”
But the point of a Yod is also the goal. In the spirit of Gemini’s flexibility, the solution involves integrating conflict by moderating all sides. Stay grounded and recognize your comfort zone but open a dialogue that makes room for beliefs and behaviour you may not agree with. If you’re coming from the BML side, honour your faith and freedom but don’t disrespect the safety of others.
As the ultimate goal, BML can (hopefully) introduce new wisdom, laws or perspective. This is the ideal. The reality could feature fanatical adherence to one side or the other: possible violence, angry resistance, fear of the woman overstepping her sexual boundaries, childish arguments, refusal to acknowledge tradition, the crusade of vengeance, the outsider who burns it all down.
You can’t force others to moderate but you can keep reminding yourself that each side holds a truth and neither is entirely right or wrong. Keep the lines of communication open – ask questions and don’t be afraid to shift your conclusions.
Looking at the screenshot, you might think BML opposes this New Moon, forming what’s known as a Boomerang Yod (the focal point energy bounces back to the New Moon). I suppose you could stretch it out this way but I like to use very tight orbs with Black Moon Lilith since she’s not a solid body (she’s a point in space). Whether or not you choose to use the Boomerang definition doesn’t really matter because in the end, it’s the same- New Moon equals a new beginning that encompasses BML and all the fear, resistance and enlightenment she brings. Perhaps fear will bring enlightenment – anything goes with Gemini.
