GreenSquareAccord Housing Association has handed a three-year contract to a West Midlands-based property consultancy. Grove West will deliver expert witness services across the client’s housing portfolio.
Headquartered in Birmingham, GreenSquareAccord Housing Association manages more than 25,000 homes in diverse communities across the Midlands and South West. The association also provides new homes for social and affordable private or shared ownership – with recent developments including Swindon, Lye, Walsall, Telford, Daventry and Oxford.
The contract follows a long and successful working relationship between the two organisations. Grove West director and chartered building surveyor Lee Higgs said the company was proud to continue its work with GreenSquareAccord.
“We fully understand the pressures faced by housing associations and local authorities in managing ageing, and often complex housing stock, which can be affected by a multitude of issues,” Higgs added.
The move comes as the housing sector’s regulatory environment undergoes a number of key shifts. With housing associations now facing clear expectations for building condition and potential disrepair to be properly investigated, access to robust, independent expert advice has become essential.
Also based in Birmingham, Grove West will take on the contract with GreenSquareAccord for the next three years. Providing expert witness services across its housing portfolio, Grove West will bring expertise on board that it has utilised for a range of other local authorities, private landlords and housing associations, providing specialist expertise in building pathology, defect diagnosis and remedial repair solutions.
Grove West was founded by co-directors Lee Higgs and Callum Kenny, who between them have more than 25 years’ experience in the property business. The consultancy works across many sectors, providing professional advice to property owners and occupiers, investors, developers and property managers, covering pre-acquisition, concepts, feasibility, design, construction and disposal. It also advises on disrepair claims and related housing condition disputes.
