SHILLONG, June 19: The East Khasi Hills district administration has revised its earlier advisory and announced that tourists will be allowed entry into the Air Force Station at Laitkor Peak only from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM on June 20, owing to the visit of the Union Defence Minister.
According to a notification issued by the Deputy Commissioner of East Khasi Hills on Friday, the restricted schedule has been put in place in view of the Defence Minister’s visit to the Air Force Station, Laitkor Peak. After 11:00 AM, entry of tourists into the station premises will remain closed for the rest of the day.
The order partially modifies an earlier advisory issued on June 18. The district administration has requested tourists and visitors to cooperate with the temporary arrangement and regretted any inconvenience caused.
