Costa Coffee has contracted The Construction Consultants to support the development of a new venue in Shrewsbury. The drive-thru coffee shop will be the 10th Costa project involving the firm.
Operating in a total of 37 countries, Costa Coffee is a British coffeehouse chain, with headquarters in Loudwater, Buckinghamshire, England. It operates 2,800 locations in the UK alone, including 400 drive-thru venues.
The chain is increasingly pivoting to the drive-thru model – with its lower overheads and smaller operational requirements – and in 2026, Costa announced it would add 40 such venues to its retail estate. The outlet in Shrewsbury will be one of these.
In order to deliver on the plan, The Construction Consultants (TCC) have been appointed to support the development of the £800,000 location, on the Sentinel Trade Park. The firm is providing employers agent services for the design and build of the new drive-thru on Whitchurch Road, with the project due for completion later this year.
TCC senior quantity surveyor Delon Sharpe said, “We are excited to have been appointed to yet another Costa Coffee project. We have developed a great relationship with the company and this project will provide a much-needed facility for the area.”
This is the 10th Costa Coffee project supported by TCC. The consultancy has worked on Costa developments in Bristol, Wolverhampton and Andover among other locations. As well as a drive-thru coffee shop the new development includes a parking area, landscaping and refuse storage.
Based in Birmingham, TCC is a multi-disciplined consultancy providing specialist project management, quantity-surveying, employers agent, building surveying and health and safety services to a wide range of sectors.
