Bharti Airtel has launched a new service called Priority Postpaid aimed at offering customers a better and more stable mobile network experience using advanced 5G slicing technology.

The company said the new system helps divide network capacity intelligently so that postpaid users get smoother connectivity even during peak usage times. This is expected to improve call quality, video streaming, online meetings, and other high-data activities when networks are usually crowded.

Airtel said it has upgraded its 5G network to support this technology, which is already being used in countries like the US, UK, Singapore, and Malaysia. The company claims this is the first rollout of such a service in India.

Airtel MD and CEO Shashwat Sharma said the aim is to offer a more reliable experience for customers, especially in situations like travel, crowded areas, or live events where networks often slow down. “Our focus at Airtel is on delivering meaningful innovations that enhance our customers’ experience,” he said.

“Priority Postpaid is our latest innovation powered by the 5G slicing technology. It provides a superior, more reliable, and dependable experience to our customers — whether they are attending a client call in traffic, or streaming at a packed concert, or booking a cab in a crowded market,” Sharma added.

Who all can avail Priority Postpaid service?

The Priority Postpaid service will be available to all Airtel postpaid users, and existing customers will be automatically upgraded. Prepaid users can switch through the Airtel app or visit an Airtel store. Customers need a 5G SA-enabled smartphone with updated software to use the service.

If your phone is not fully updated or not compatible yet, you will see a ‘pending action’” alert in the Settings section of your phone. You can also open the Airtel app, where there will be a check/indicator for ‘phone readiness’.

Plans include:₹449 plan: Basic postpaid benefits with cloud storage and apps like Xstream Play and Adobe Express.

₹699 plan (family of 2): Adds on include Amazon Prime and JioHotstar.

₹999 plan (family of 3) and ₹1199 plan (family of 4): Adds Apple TV+ and Apple Music

₹1749 plan (family of 5): Adds on include Netflix.

All Airtel plans above ₹699 will receive benefits such as priority on 5G with fast-lane technology, fraud detection, spam alert services, unlimited data and calling and 3000 SMS.
