Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Today is the start of the May F&O series for the Nifty contracts. Today is also the penultimate trading session of this truncated week. 24,000 remains the key for the Nifty, whose downside has been capped over the last two sessions, considering the outperformance of Reliance Industries, even as banking and IT stocks have sulked.

On the upside, the 24,200 level is proving to be a congestion zone over the last two days. For the Nifty Bank, 55,000 on the downside now holds the key. The other factor that the bulls would not like is the higher oil prices. Brent remains around $112 a barrel, with US crude also nearing $100.

There will be earnings reactions today from Garden Reach, Bandhan Bank, Canara HSBC, Emmvee Photovoltaic, and other names, while Bajaj Finance, Vedanta, Motilal Oswal, Mphasis, Indian bank, Indian Overseas Bank among many others are the key results to be reported today. Vedanta will also be in the spotlight a day before it begins trading ex-demerger.
