Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates, April 16, 2026: The Nifty50 and the Sensex erased gains as auto, realty, and bank stocks weighed. However, gains in global equities on the hopes for a truce between the US and Iran limited losses.
The Nifty50 was trading 0.42 per cent or 102.45 points down at 24,128.85, and the Sensex was trading 325.47 points or 0.42 per cent down at 77,785.77.
Titan Company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation, and HDFC Bank were the top losers in the Nifty50 index.
Broader markets were trading on a mixed note. The Nifty MidCap was 0.04 per cent down, and the Nifty SmallCap was trading 0.26 per cent higher, respectively.
Among sectors, the Nifty Metal and Nifty Financial Services Ex Bank were the top gainers. Meanwhile, the Nifty Auto emerged as the worst-performing sector with the least gain.
Q4 results today
Alok Industries, Angel One, Crisil, HDFC Asset Management Company, HDFC Life Insurance Company, Waaree Renewable Technologies, VST Industries, and Wipro will release their quarterly performance reports on Thursday.
