IPL 2026 saw the 11th match featuring CSK and RCB. The match was hosted by the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. There, RCB batted well, scoring better than CSK’s bowlers.

RCB scored first, securing a score of 250 runs for the loss of 3 wickets in 20 overs. With 19 sixes, RCB became the team with the most sixes in an IPL innings, surpassing KKR’s previous record.

KKR had previously set the record in matches against CSK in 2018 and 2020. During these matches, KKR achieved a score of 17 sixes. However, during this particular match, RCB had more sixes than fours, with 19 sixes and 14 fours.

After losing the toss and opting to bat first, RCB got off to a steady start with Phil Salt and Virat Kohli adding 37 runs for the first wicket. Kohli was dismissed for 28 off 18 balls. Salt scored 46 runs in 30 balls with the help of 3 fours and 2 sixes. Devdutt Padikkal was in excellent form, scoring 50 off just 29 balls. Rajat Patidar, meanwhile, batted brilliantly, scoring an unbeaten 48 off 19 balls at a strike rate of 252.

Tim David batted explosively and scored 70 runs in just 25 balls. David hit 3 fours and 8 towering sixes in this innings, playing at a strike rate of 280. David and Rajat made an unbroken partnership of 99 runs in just 35 balls for the fourth wicket. Chennai Super Kings bowlers proved to be very expensive in this match. Anshul Kamboj gave away 52 runs in his 4 overs, taking only one wicket. Noor Ahmed gave away 49 runs in 4 overs, while Khaleel Ahmed gave away 37 runs. Matt Henry proved to be expensive for the third consecutive match and gave away 36 runs in just 3 overs.
