Kitchen appliances startup Beyond Appliances is targeting an annual recurring revenue (ARR) run rate of ₹500 crore over the next three years as it doubles down on its smart kitchen appliances category and expands offline distribution.

The Bengaluru-based company, which was spun out of Mukunda Foods around 15 months ago, said it has scaled from monthly revenues of around ₹10 lakh at launch to nearly ₹3 crore a month currently, driven by demand for smart chimneys and premium gas stoves.

“We are seeing close to 25 per cent month-on-month growth in revenue and believe the game will change as we expand offline and continue brand launches,” said Rakesh Patil, cofounder and CTO of Beyond Appliances. “Within the next three years, we are targeting a ₹500 crore ARR run rate.”

The company said it is betting heavily on a new plug-and-play chimney category that removes the need for ducting and structural changes in kitchens, addressing a major friction point for Indian households.

“People wanted chimneys, but they did not want construction work or major installation hassles in the kitchen,” Patil said. “When we launched the plug-and-play category, our initial pilot units sold out within days.”

According to the company, the chimney category now contributes 60 per cent of overall revenue. Hobs contribute nearly 40 per cent of revenue, while traditional chimney products account for 20-25 per cent.

Beyond Appliances is positioning itself as a premium kitchen brand focused on innovation and safety features rather than competing aggressively on pricing against incumbents.

“The kitchen category has seen very little innovation over the last decade,” Patil said. “We wanted to build differentiated products that solve real problems around convenience, safety and premium user experience.”

The startup said it has developed India’s first Android-enabled chimney and is also working on energy-efficient cooktops aimed at reducing household LPG consumption. It recently introduced in-house BLDC technology for its chimney portfolio.

While the company currently derives nearly 84 per cent of sales online through marketplaces such as Amazon and Flipkart, it is increasing focus on offline retail expansion.

Patil said Beyond Appliances follows a hybrid manufacturing strategy, with core product components designed and assembled in-house while partnering with eight OEM manufacturers across India for large-scale production.

“About 80 per cent of our supply chain is based in India, which has helped us avoid major disruptions despite global supply chain volatility,” he said.
