India’s Nayara Energy is expected to resume operations by mid-May at its Vadinar refinery in western Gujarat after a maintenance shutdown, said Sujata Sharma, a joint secretary in the federal oil ministry.
Nayara Energy, majority-owned by Russian entities including oil major Rosneft, had fully shut its 400,000-barrel-per-day refinery for maintenance from April 9.
Nayara had originally planned a month-long maintenance shutdown last year but had to postpone it due to European Union sanctions, which made it difficult to secure key items required for the turnaround.
