Strange Scaffold has announced that Truck-kun is Supporting Me From Another World?! will launch on July 29 for PC and Xbox Series X|S. The absurdist, anime-inspired driving game was featured at the Black Voices in Gaming showcase alongside a new release date trailer.
Players will also get a chance to try the game ahead of launch through a public demo at both the Tribeca Festival and Steam Next Fest later this month.
Cause Chaos Across Two Worlds
Inspired by the popular “truck-kun” anime trope, the game follows Carissa, a young woman whose life changes dramatically after being struck by a delivery truck. Instead of dying, she awakens in the fantasy realm of Talinfold as a powerful elf hero.
Back in the real world, players control the truck itself, making deliveries while smashing through obstacles and sending people, resources, and objects into the fantasy dimension. Every collision helps Carissa on her quest to return home.
Reckless Driving Saves the Day
The path to saving Talinfold involves plenty of destruction. Players will complete objectives across both worlds, gather stars to power the mysterious Galactic Gate, and work toward defeating the Skeleton King to obtain the legendary Scroll of Resurrection.
The game mixes Strange Scaffold’s signature humor with action-focused gameplay, encouraging players to create as much mayhem as possible while progressing through a surprisingly heartfelt story.
Ska Music, Fantasy Heroes, and Complete Absurdity
The adventure is backed by a ska-inspired soundtrack from composer David Mason, whose previous work includes Creepy Redneck Dinosaur Mansion 3. Alongside fantasy battles and dimension-hopping deliveries, players can expect Strange Scaffold’s trademark brand of bizarre humor, including one particularly memorable giant screaming man that doubles as a drivable obstacle.
