What you want (Venus) is at odds with the focus on courage, initiative and passion (Vesta).
Venus in Cancer is happiness that’s fed by comfort, tradition, food, coziness and family. But the desire to curl up is challenged by a new situation that threatens to yank you away from all that’s comfortable.
Vesta’s fight is sacred. The primal task is all that matters. The warrior or pioneer carry the flame and don’t have time for Venus in Cancer’s sensitivities.
You might be clinging to safe traditions that shelter what you love, but this won’t make your awareness of the fight go away. Or, maybe you’re fixated on a new passion and are getting impatient with home life/relationships that are smothering.
Consider this to be a catalyst for change. Why is happiness is challenged by the extreme focus on a newborn situation. What parts of the past/family members are threatened?
Vesta is considered pure (she is a virgin goddess). Her energy is strictly reserved. In astrology, this translates to extreme limits that create obsessive focus. She is the goddess of the hearth – the sacred, life-giving flame at the centre of the home. That flame is strictly contained by a vessel which protects and intensifies it. In Aries, “home” has become the battlefield, the chase, the push into uncharted territory.
Her square to Venus in home- loving Cancer, suggesting a break from the comfortable past to burn out a new home, a new hearth. But the past still beckons and this new fixation may or may not be right for you – today’s square leads to the May 22nd Neptune/Vesta conjunction and Venus square Neptune.
Stay tuned.
