Pluto stations retrograde tomorrow and I want to make sure you understand what this transit is actually doing because this one goes deep. Our contributing astrologer Lisa Stardust breaks down the cosmic weather below, and if you want the full ritual guide, key dates, and my personal working for this retrograde, that’s all waiting for you over on Patreon.
Pluto is the planet of the underworld, transformation, death, and rebirth. When it stations retrograde in Aquarius from May 6 to October 15, 2026, it’s not creating external chaos it’s pulling everything inward. Into the subconscious. Into the power dynamics we’ve normalized. Into the patterns we keep calling healed that aren’t.
Pluto entered Aquarius on November 19, 2024 and won’t leave until 2043. We are at the beginning of a nearly two-decade transit that is reshaping how power moves through the world — through technology, institutions, and the collective stories we tell about progress and who it actually serves. The retrograde is the part of that story where it stops being something happening out there and becomes something happening inside you.
What makes this retrograde specific is the tension built into it. Saturn and Neptune are both in Aries — the sign of the self — which is making this transit feel more guarded and internal than a typical Aquarius energy. You may notice you’re less willing to share your beliefs, your plans, your inner world with people who haven’t earned that access. Trust that instinct. Your discernment is sharp right now and that’s protective, not paranoid.
There are significant dates inside this retrograde worth marking. On July 20, Jupiter moves into Leo and opposes Pluto, triggering a major reckoning between collective ideals and those who hold power — old structures begin cracking and new ones emerge. July 26 brings the North Node into Aquarius, conjuncting Pluto retrograde — a karmic threshold of deep healing and clearing of past-life constructs. On September 15, Venus in Scorpio squares Pluto, surfacing confrontations in relationships that have been building for a while, and the work here requires honesty from all parties. On October 3, Mars in Leo clashes with Pluto retrograde so watch for manipulation and use that energy to manifest instead.
We are collectively in a moment where forces that want to control and silence us are not subtle. This retrograde is an invitation to define freedom on your own terms — starting from the inside out.
