FTI Consulting has announced the launch of a new hub in Leeds. The locale is the firm’s fifth in the UK, and will be supported by it’s long-established Manchester outpost.
Matthew Callaghan, head of UK restructuring at FTI Consulting, said in a post on LinkedIn, “Expanding our national footprint has been a strategic priority for some time, following the success of our Manchester office which opened just three years ago. Today, I’m delighted to announce we’re extending into Yorkshire, opening a new office in Leeds. This important investment means we’re better placed than ever to support businesses, lenders and stakeholders across the North with integrated restructuring and debt advisory services.”
Globally, FTI Consulting has more than 8,100 employees located in 33 countries. Rated at diamond standard for corporate governance, forensic and litigation and restructuring in ConsultancyUK’s 2026 consulting industry rankings, the firm also boasts two offices in London, as well as locales in Glasgow, Manchester and now Leeds.
The new office in Yorkshire strengthens the firm’s presence across the North of England, with the Leeds office providing integrated restructuring and debt advisory services to support the mid-market throughout the region. As part of the strategic expansion, managing directors Emma Lister from FTI Consulting’s Manchester office, along with Richard Hall from the London office, will relocate to strengthen the firm’s Leeds-based team, with more new hires to join in the near future.
The team will initially operate from offices on Boar Lane – and also be supported by newcomer Matt McErlane. He joins the firm as a managing director in its corporate finance segment. Bringing more than 10 years of restructuring and turnaround advisory experience across a broad range of restructuring and special situations assignments, at FTI he will help companies, as well as their lenders, sponsors and other stakeholders, develop and execute strategies that address complex financial and operational challenges.
McErlane added in a statement, “I’m excited to join FTI Consulting and help establish our office in Leeds. There is a notable energy across the firm and within the restructuring and insolvency team, and I’m looking forward to working with my new colleagues to deliver the first-rate advice that the firm is known for to clients facing stress or distress.”
