Opus Business Advisory Group has launched a new grants service line, in a significant expansion of the firm’s existing advisory offering. According to Managing Partner Tim Dolder, the move is “a natural evolution”, as the firm looks to broaden the ways it supports clients.
Dolder added, “Access to funding is a critical lever for growth and recovery, yet it remains under-utilised due to complexity and lack of awareness.”
The new dedicated specialist grants team will work to address growing demand from businesses seeking non-dilutive funding and to tackle long-standing challenges in the business grant funding landscape. These include limited awareness, lengthy application processes, and resource constraints.
Grants can provide vital, non-dilutive capital across sectors such as construction, medtech, defence, energy and advanced manufacturing. Opus aims to make them more accessible, by working across existing and new client relationships, supporting SMEs, scale-ups and larger organisations alike, including those involved in M&A activity, restructuring, and growth strategies.
The team will be led by new arrival David Murray. Joining Opus with extensive experience in the grant funding sector, having played a pivotal role in scaling high-growth grant consultancies. Having formerly led a similar grant consultancy, he helped grow the company from inception to £10 million in revenue, building and leading an international sales team. He has since worked across both high-volume and bespoke consultancy models, giving him a unique perspective on the inefficiencies and opportunities within the market.
Looking ahead, Murray will now will lead the development of a new, technology-led approach to business grant funding that maintains a strong people-first ethos. By combining specialist software with skilled human expertise, the firm will significantly reduce application timelines, from months to a matter of days, while ensuring the insight, judgement and quality that only experienced grant writers can deliver.

The reality is that there are hundreds of funding opportunities available across the UK and globally, for businesses of all sizes. At Opus, we’re changing that.
