Digital Eclipse and Atari have released a major update for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, adding the long-requested Krossplay feature. The patch goes live today at 4:00 p.m. PT and allows players to compete across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo, and PC platforms in Quick Play and Online Arcade modes.
The update also works alongside the previously released Room Code system, making it easier for players to connect with friends or find matches across the wider community.

2v2 Online Kombat Arrives
The patch also introduces 2-on-2 Kombat online for the first time. Tag-team matches are now supported in Ultimate MK3 for Arcade and SNES, Mortal Kombat Trilogy on PS1, and Mortal Kombat 4 Arcade.
There are some platform limits. Online play for Mortal Kombat 4 and cross-platform online play for Mortal Kombat Trilogy are not supported on the original Nintendo Switch due to technical limitations.

VRR Support and More Fixes
Variable Refresh Rate support is now available as a selectable option on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 in handheld mode, and PC. Digital Eclipse says this helps gameplay sync closer to the original arcade frame rates.
The update also lets players choose their level before online matches across supported games, fixes issues with room connection strength settings and Kombat Kard replays, updates localization, and includes other bug fixes.
Digital Eclipse says these are the final major features currently planned for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection, though the team will continue looking into fixes and improvements.
