Update []: Well, that was a relatively quick response, assuming everything is on the mend.
Reports of PSN going down spiked a little after 10PM EDT / 7PM PDT / 3AM BST, but seem to be settling down now, roughly 30 minutes later.
While we weren’t able to boot any online-only games a few minutes ago, we’ve been having more success already. We’re seeing similar chatter around social media.
While some isolated issues may remain – and it does look like a bunch of servers went down all around the same time – things should steadily improve from here.
We’ll update again if anything particularly dramatic occurs.
Original Story: There are widespread reports of a PSN outage circulating online, with PS5 and PS4 owners noting an inability to play multiplayer games.
We just tested our console and were able to login, but did have some issues playing some of our online-only games.
Sony has yet to officially acknowledge the downtime, but from what we’re seeing, this does appear to be a wider web issue. Various other online services, including retailers and gaming platforms, have seen a spike in inactivity over the past hour or so.
We’ll update if this story develops in a meaningful way, but for now just sit tight and hopefully all will be resolved relatively swiftly.
