For Star Trek nerds, First Contact Day is either a celebratory moment in the series’ lore, a good film, or both. But for fans of Star Trek Online, First Contact Day is going to be the day when they can earn the keys to a free T6 ship for the game on either PC or console. Or they get the command assignment; we suppose starships don’t have keys or an ignition.
Between April 7th and May 7th, players can take on several familiar tasks to gain progress to the ship unlock such as building and launching their own Phoenix rocket, going back in time to prevent the Borg from ruining first contact, or taking part in a recreation of the Synth attack on Mars. Progress for the event can also be earned by taking on the Battle of Wolf 359 TFO.
Any of these activities can apply daily progress once per day per account to a new T6 version of the Noble Intel Battlecruiser, which is one of the MMO’s very first internet spaceships. Other goodies that can be earned include a box that awards account-wide badges, a Phoenix rocket toy, and holo-emitter that visually changes shuttles into the Phoenix. It takes 20 days total to get to the new old ship, so plan accordingly if you want the keys — er, we mean command of her bridge.
